Hasina Jalal Addresses the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum on Women’s Rights and Workplace Equality
As Director of Donor Coordination and Program Design and Policy Advisor, Hasina Jalal addressed colleagues at the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum on the legal and policy frameworks aimed at eliminating violence and discrimination against women in Afghanistan.
Her talk focused on the Elimination of Violence Against Women (EVAW) law, the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), and the National Action Plan for the Women of Afghanistan (NAPWA), as well as other national policies prohibiting gender-based discrimination in the workplace.
Through this engagement, she emphasized the obligations of public institutions to uphold women’s rights, promote equal opportunity, and create safe, inclusive working environments. The session underscored the role of government ministries in translating national commitments into effective institutional practice and advancing gender equality within the public sector.
